The flag of Prince Edward Island was adopted on March 24, 1964.
The banner of arms was granted on May 30, 1905, having been used on the provincial Great Seal since 1769. The lion symbolizes ties with the United Kingdom. The large tree is the oak of England and the tree saplings represent the three counties of the province. The green island reminds us that both Britain and the province are islands.
The flag is made of 100% polyester. They also have two brass grommets for easy attachment.
